Serrala
Repositioning a heritage brand for global growth through a modern, scalable identity
Overview
Serrala, a well-established German finance business, required a refreshed brand identity to support global expansion and reposition itself as an end-to-end solution.
I worked as part of the creative team developing and delivering a new visual identity system, helping translate a strategically driven positioning into a flexible, modern brand that could scale across markets and touchpoints.
The Challenge
Serrala had strong heritage and credibility in Germany but relatively low awareness internationally.
The brand also lacked cohesion across its product offering, making it difficult to communicate a unified proposition and support cross-selling across its portfolio.
The challenge was to create an identity that honoured this heritage while modernising the brand and enabling it to operate confidently on a global stage.
The Approach
The creative direction centred around elevating Serrala’s German engineering heritage — using it as a foundation to communicate precision, reliability, and quality in a more emotionally engaging way.
I contributed to translating this strategic thinking into a visual system that felt both credible and contemporary. This included evolving core brand elements and helping define a broader design language across colour, illustration, and photography.
The aim was to move the brand beyond functional product messaging and towards a more expressive, recognisable identity that could work consistently across multiple channels and regions.
Execution
I worked across a wide range of brand applications, ensuring the identity was not only visually strong but also practical and scalable.
This included:
- Brand asset development across digital and print
- Social content and campaign-ready assets
- Presentation systems and templates
- Supporting materials for internal rollout and adoption
The work required balancing creativity with usability — ensuring global teams could apply the brand consistently across different markets and contexts.
Outcome
The refreshed identity provided Serrala with a more cohesive and distinctive brand presence, helping unify its product offering and support its global positioning.
The rollout enabled internal teams to adopt the new brand effectively, supporting both external marketing and internal alignment at scale.
